New York, NY
(September 30, 2021) – Pulitzer Prize finalist Lore Segal’s internationally acclaimed semi-autobiographical novel Other People’s Houses will be adapted for the stage by Emily Feldman and three-time Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin.

Nine months after Hitler takes Austria, a ten-year-old girl leaves Vienna aboard a train that transports several hundred children to safety in England. For the next seven years she finds herself living in “other people’s houses”: the homes of the wealthy Orthodox Jewish Levines, the working-class Hoopers, and two elderly sisters who inhabit a formal Victorian household. Told from the perspective of a child, Other People’s Houses offers an insightful and witty depiction of the habits and customs of those who gave her refuge, and a memorable portrait of the postwar immigrant experience.

“In 1938, when I was ten years old, I wrote down my story for my first foster family because it seemed to me that they did not understand what it was like to have lived in Hitler’s Vienna, or to escape to England on the Children’s Transport. The story grew into a series published in The New Yorker between 1962 and ’64, and became the novel Other People’s Houses. For a lifelong lover of the theater it will be wonderful if, in my nineties, I can see these events adapted for the stage to allow new generations to witness to the terrors human beings can inflict on each other,” said Lore Segal.

“Shortly after I read Other People’s Houses, I discovered that Lore Segal lived just two floors below me. I treasured her book and knew that it was kismet. Lore and I became friends and I started to imagine a way to bring Other People’s Houses to life onstage. I am excited to pair two theater artists I admire to adapt this moving and relevant story and I’m grateful for our ongoing collaboration with Lore,” said producer Jacob Stuckelman.

Lore Segal’s Other People’s Houses was originally published in 1964 by The New Press and hailed by critics including Cynthia Ozick and Elie Wiesel. The stage adaptation of the novel will be produced by Jacob Stuckelman and Joseph Hayes. Additional information will be announced shortly.

New York, NY
(September 30, 2021) – Super Secret Arts is proud to present the world premiere site-specific production Back & Forth, a new play written by Richard Hollman, which will be performed in Central Park’s East Meadow, hidden among your everyday park-goes. Featuring two actors, two gloves, a baseball, and an audience equipped with headphones to observe and eavesdrop at their leisure, Back & Forth will play its game of catch over three weekends this fall, beginning Thursday, October 7, with an official Opening Night on Sunday, October 10.

It’s just a conversation until you catch on. Back & Forth is the story of two old friends reuniting for the first time since a forced period of extended social isolation (yes, that period of social isolation) and discovering that despite having felt basically immobile for the past 18 months, quite a lot has changed.

Audience members will receive an email 24 hours before their performance telling them where to enter the park and how to recognize the house manager, who will advise them on how to tune in to the show and where they may want to sit, though ultimately the audience will decide how they want to observe this particular game of catch.

“I've had the basic idea for this play for years. I'm a former baseball player and I love watching even the simple act of two people playing catch. On a surface level, it's exciting to me as the basis for a play because you can't act it, you just have to do it, and there's bound to be an uncontrollable variation from performance to performance. Even professional baseball players would have difficulty replicating the exact same game of catch twice. And while it's essentially repetitious, there are stakes, namely those that exist between the two players personally,” said playwright Richard Hollman.

Hollman continued, “Additionally, I've been interested in the idea of physical distance as emotional distance for a long time. New York City is a place where so many people cross into our visual field daily. There's a forced intimacy with those near you and a fading into the background of those far away. But every individual of course has a complicated and intricate inner life. I'm obsessed with what's happening with the people in apartments across the street and people across a field in Central Park. And now, after having had to be physically far from those we love because of the pandemic, what happens when we come back together? How have we changed? Can physical distance coupled with the emotional intimacy of hearing someone right in your ears help us empathize with strangers across a field? We use technology to communicate with others from afar but what about a chance to use it to hear a conversation we're not part of?”

Directed by Katie Young, the cast of Back & Fourth features Richard Hollman and Chris Roberti. The Production Stage Manager is Helen Thornton.

The show will play the following schedule: Thursday, October 7 – Sunday, October 10, at 5:30pm; Thursday, October 14 – Sunday, October 17, at 5:30pm; and Thursday, October 21 – Sunday, October 24 at 5:00pm.

“This show is a true love letter to Stranger Things, and we were overjoyed to have been able to bring it to NYC this past summer in its Off-Broadway debut. We are so thrilled to finally have this incredible music recorded so that people from around the world can join us on our adventures in the Upside Down,” said director Nick Flatto and writer Jonathan Hogue.

Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical, which had a smash hit off-Broadway run at The Players Theatre this summer, is a wild and irreverent send-up of the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things” and all its campy 80’s glory. Take a trip back to Hawkins, Indiana, 1983: when times were simpler, hair was bigger, and unsupervised children were getting snatched by inter-dimensional creatures. Join Mike, Eleven, Lucas, Dustin, and the whole Hawkins gang for a night of adventure, thrills, indulgent pop culture references, pubescent angst, heavy synth, poor parenting, convoluted love triangles, cheap effects, dancing monsters, and maybe, just maybe… justice for everyone’s favorite frumpy ginger, Barb Holland.

The creative team of Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical includes Nick Flatto (Director), Jonathan Hogue (Book, Music, Lyrics), Michael Kaish (Musical Direction/Orchestrations), Ashley Marinelli (Choreography), James Ortiz (Scenic Design), Cassandra McCall Endicott (Costume Design), Jesse Scott (Lighting Design), Megan ‘Deets’ Cully (Sound Design). Casting by Krisha Bullock, CSA, Jamie Snow, CSA, Zachary Spiegel, and Brett Hahalyak of Bullock and Snow Casting.

Songs in Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical include:

“Welcome to Hawkins”

“Forever”

“The Adventure Song”

“The Dad I Never Had”

“In These Woods”

“Crazy”
“Getting Closer”

“Stranger”

“Where There’s A Will”

“Nice”

“Barb’s Turn”

“Final Battle”

“The Dad I Never Had (Reprise)”

“Upside Down / Welcome to Hawkins (Reprise)”

The Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical Cast Recording is Produced by Jakob Reinhardt, Jonathan Hogue, and Michael Kaish; Executive Produced by Cue to Cue Productions LLC and Golden Olive Productions; and Co-Produced by Stranger Sings LLC (Nick Flatto, Dena Hardee, Allison Hartfield, and Jonathan Hogue).

It's one of Bill Clinton's favorite political expressions: “When you see a turtle on a fence post, you know it didn't get there by itself. It doesn’t belong there. You wonder who put it there.” And now, you'll know, it’s not about the turtle!

Inspired by true events, A Turtle on a Fence Post fictionalizes the inside story of a prominent New Yorker thrown into an unknown world by New York’s most powerful man. At heart a vibrant tale of love and friendship, Turtle… uses humor and song to deal with themes of freedom, forgiveness and truth, revealing how meaningful learning can arise in the most unexpected places and from the most surprising sources.

The creative team also includes Music Direction by Aaron Gandy (Romeo & Bernadette), Orchestrations and Arrangements by Steve Orich (Jersey Boys), and Casting by Paul Hardt of Hardt Casting (Once Upon a One More Time). Two nobodies dream of writing one hit song for everybody, but their day job composing jingles for commercials isn’t the big break they hoped. That is, until they’re plucked from obscurity by a world-famous pop star named Regina Comet (if destiny had a child, it would be her) and she wants them to create an anthem for her supernova pipes... and her new perfume. They’re so close to the big-time they can smell it, but following your passion doesn’t always lead where you expect. Making a hit song can be a shit-show.

As previously announced, the cast of A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet comprises of Bryonha Marie Parham (Prince of Broadway, “The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage!”) starring as ‘Regina Comet,’ who is joined by …Regina Comet creators Alex Wyse (“Indoor Boys”, Spring Awakening) and Ben Fankhauser (Newsies, Beautiful).

The creative team for A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet includes Alex Wyse and Ben Fankhauser (Book/Music/Lyrics), Marshall Pailet (Direction), Drama Desk Award winner Stephanie Klemons (Choreography), Lucille Lortel Award nominee Wilson Chin (Scenic Design), Antonyo Award winner Sarita Fellows (Costume Design), Aja M. Jackson (Lighting Design), Twi McCallum (Sound Design), Alex Goldie Golden (Music Director), and Hannah Woodward (Production Stage Manager).

The show will play the following schedule: Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesdays at 7pm, Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 3pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm and 7pm.

A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet is produced by Cody Lassen, joined by Kate Cannova, Fever, Sue Gilad & Larry Rogowsky, Chaz Naor, Jamie deRoy/Luigi Caiola, Samantha Squeri, David Lipowicz, Brad Blume, Jo-Ann Dean, Wayne H. Holland, III, Jamie Joeyen-Waldorf, Robert Laurita, Benny Lumpkins Jr., Philip Makara, and Raindrop Valley.

IN NEW YORK DOESN’T WANT YOU TO SEE

FIRST THEATRICAL PRODUCTION TO BE SOLD VIA VENUETIX

PREVIEWS BEGIN OCTOBER 26
OPENING NIGHT SET FOR NOVEMBER 14
AT THEATER 555

New York, NY
(September 14, 2021) – Max Brod Productions (Hank Morris, Executive Producer) announced today that tickets are now on sale for the new off-Broadway musical comedy A Turtle on a Fence Post, set to re-open the newly renamed Theater 555 (555 W. 42nd Street) with performances beginning Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Starting at $69, tickets can now be purchased by visiting www.TurtleMusical.com or www.Theater555.VenueTix.com, and are priced into three tiers: “Class A Felony” premium seats, “Misdemeanor” seats, and “Plea Bargain” seats.

A Turtle on a Fence Post marks the first time that ticketing platform VenueTix is partnering with an Off-Broadway venue to offer white-label ticketing services for a full theatrical production. Theater operator Eric Krebs commented, “As we conclude our renovations and updates, Theater555 is thrilled to join hands with VenueTix, a new ticketing company, to provide improved and updated box office solutions for our unique venue.”

Inspired by true events, the world premiere production will be directed by Gabriel Barre (The Wild Party, Amazing Grace) and choreographed by Kenny Ingram (Emojiland). The book is written by Prisoner #11RO731*, with music by Austin Nuckols, and lyrics by Lily Dwoskin.

“A turtle on a fence post,” is one of Bill Clinton’s favorite colloquialisms: “If you see a turtle on a fence post,” the former president likes to say, “you know it didn't get there by itself.” Set in the contrasting locales of a comedy club and a correctional institution, Turtle… tells the fish-out-of-water story of a prominent New Yorker thrown into an unknown world by New York’s most powerful man, and how the experience changes him and those around him. The show deals with themes of freedom, forgiveness, truth and shifting perspectives, and features a bullying, toxic, retaliating, brutal New York Governor as its principal antagonist.

While at heart a vibrant story of love and friendship, Turtle… intersects with several major issues of our time including criminal justice, parole reform, and public leadership. The show reveals how learning can arise in the most unexpected places, from the most surprising sources, and with the most meaningful consequences.

The creative team also includes Music Direction by Aaron Gandy (Romeo & Bernadette), Orchestrations and Arrangements by Steve Orich (Jersey Boys), and Casting by Paul Hardt of Hardt Casting (Once Upon a One More Time). General Management is by Michael Chase Gosselin & Tim Sulka of Visceral Entertainment (Emojiland, Midnight at The Never Get), and Production Management is by Tinc Productions.

Max Brod Productions is named in honor of Max Brod, a Czech born, Jewish Israeli writer, who was Franz Kafka’s best friend and shepherded the publication of Kafka’s The Trial, a novel which details the existential voyage of an innocent man prosecuted and convicted for an unknown crime.

A Turtle on a Fence Post, with an official Opening Night set for Sunday, November 14, will play a limited ten-week engagement through Sunday, January 2, 2022. All attendees will be required to show ID and proof of COVID vaccination.

Theater 555, owned by theatrical producer Eric Krebs was formerly the home of both the Signature and Pearl Theatre Companies and more recently the home of Upright Citizens Brigade. www.Theater555.com.

Additional information, including casting and complete creative team, will be announced shortly. To sign-up for updates, please visit www.TurtleMusical.com.

New York, NY (September 10, 2021) – Production has wrapped on Launch at Paradise, a new science-fiction thriller short film by Carrie Ann Quinn (“Defending Jacob”) starring two-time Screen Actors Guild Award winner Catherine Curtin (“Orange is the New Black,” “Stranger Things”) and Obie Award winner Zainab Jah (False Positive, “Deep State”), with Grammy Award nominee James Harkness (Ain’t Too Proud), Lauren Schaffel (“Still Standing”), Patrick Shane (“Homicide City”), and Daniel Mitura (The Hobbyist). Written by Daniel Mitura and directed by Carrie Ann Quinn, Launch at Paradise features music by Blair Borland, editing by Jonathan Rogers, production design by Kat VanCleave, cinematography by Dominick Sivilli, and costumes by Breton Tyner-Bryan.

If creating a unified perspective for all humankind can spell the end of violence, conflict, and discrimination, is it worth killing individual thought? Should we fundamentally change the human brain in order to end conflict? In Launch at Paradise, a powerful organization offers its agents “eternal life” in exchange for their brain matter, reorganizing the best content of their minds to create a super intelligence that brings forth an end to war and conflict. They are terrified to learn that they sacrifice their individuality as a result, but is there still an escape for their soul?

“The question of what happens when we die is always an enticing theme to explore. Daniel’s script approaches the question in a new way – by technologically adapting the way a human lives, rather than going to the afterlife for answers. By expanding and upgrading the brain, which is inextricably linked to the body, Daniel’s script explores a possible new way of living. I am excited to be delving into this with my film directorial debut,” said director Carrie Ann Quinn.

"This film attests beautifully to the fortitude of every artist involved who was asked to create in the dead of winter AND the height of the pandemic. I'm beyond grateful for the depth of their artistic reserves and can't wait for audiences worldwide to experience the fruit of these labors," said producer Dee Dee Perry.

Launch at Paradise is produced by DJDL Productions in association with AireBedd Productions, with Margaret Janicek, Elizabeth Madigan Jost, Lauren Schaffel, Patrick Shane, Dee Dee Perry, and David M. Night Maire as additional producers.

New York, NY (September 8, 2021) – Announced today is the world premiere concert presentation of Trump L’oeil, a musical experience blending the elements of the Trompe-l'œil art form with the dizzying narratives to have come out of the previous administration. Created by Henry Biggs, Trump L’oeil will play a two-night engagement on Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25, both at 8pm, at the Florence Gould Hall at FIAF (55 East 59th Street) – around the corner from Trump Tower.

Life hilariously imitates art as Trump and his presidency are marched through Escher’s stairwell, Magritte’s apples, Dali’s melting clocks and other iconic trompe-l'œil and surrealist art. Trump L’oeil takes the text along for the ride as the songs turn out themselves also to be spectacular trompe-l'œil illusions. A rollicking romp that pokes fun at both sides of the aisle.

“I realized early on that Trump was a tool, if you will, and that he could serve the musical form and art surprisingly well. People tell me that this show is awesome in its catharticness - the pandemic has just been rough on all of us and this is that light at the end of the tunnel that puts it all in perspective. Ultimately, I think people will be surprised how playful it is, and how well all of the art integrates with the story,” said creator Henry Biggs.

The cast of Trump L’oeil stars Henry Biggs as Trump, and also features Joe Capstick, Toni Del Sorbo, Zak Farmer, Nicole Fazia, Zachary Flores, Janice Hall, Michal Kolaczkowski, Cedric Leiba, Jr., Robert McPherson, Noah Christopher Rubeck, Troy Valjean Rucker, Hank Santos, Bobby Underwood, Emma Vielbig, and Chadwick Vogel.

The creative team for Trump L’oeil features Henry Biggs (Book/Lyrics), Greg Shinby (Music), Ginger B. Shy (Lyrics), Preston Jones (Music), Kristi Gunther (Director), Kristin Yancy (Choreographer), Derek Elz (Projections), Abigail Hoke-Brady (Lighting Design), Cosette Pin (Sound Design), Ásta Bennie Hostetter (Costume Design), Mona Seyed-Bolorforosh
(Music Director), and Irina Gorovaia (Production Stage Manager). Casting is by Alison Franck/Franck Casting, CSA, and General Management is by Showtown Theatricals.

Trump L’oeil is produced by Greg Shinby, Stephen Bell, and Michael Silverman.

Tickets, starting at $50, are now available and can be purchased by visiting ticketmaster.com or by calling 212-355-6160.

OPENING NIGHT SET FOR SEPTEMBER 27
AT THE DR2 THEATRE

New York, NY
(September 3, 2021) – A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet, the first completely new musical to premiere at an off-Broadway venue since the shutdown began, released today a composer’s demo lyric video of “One Hit Song”.

Written and performed by the show’s creators Alex Wyse (“Indoor Boys”, Spring Awakening) and Ben Fankhauser (Newsies, Beautiful), “One Hit Song” comes at the beginning of the show with two jingle composers down on their luck, stuck with writer’s block, and figuring out how to write the one song to launch them to fame... or infamy. The “One Hit Song” lyric video can be viewed here and downloaded here.

“’One Hit Song’ was the first song we wrote for the show, and as we were finding our own creative process, it was exciting to channel it through our characters’ creative process in the words and music. We hope you enjoy, and we hope you listen to it on the elliptical,” said creators Alex Wyse and Ben Fankhauser.

As previously announced, the cast of A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet comprises of Bryonha Marie Parham (Prince of Broadway, “The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage!”) starring as ‘Regina Comet,’ who is joined by …Regina Comet creators Alex Wyse and Ben Fankhauser.

The creative team for A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet includes Alex Wyse and Ben Fankhauser (Book/Music/Lyrics), Marshall Pailet (Direction), Drama Desk Award winner Stephanie Klemons (Choreography), Lucille Lortel Award nominee Wilson Chin (Scenic Design), Antonyo Award winner Sarita Fellows (Costume Design), Aja M. Jackson (Lighting Design), Twi McCallum (Sound Design), Alex Goldie Golden (Music Director), and Hannah Woodward (Production Stage Manager).

A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet begins previews on Friday, September 17th, at the DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th Street), with an opening night set for Monday, September 27th. The strictly limited engagement is set to run through Sunday, November 14th, 2021.

The show will play the following schedule: Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesdays at 7pm, Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 3pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm and 7pm.

New York, NY
(September 2, 2021) – Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical leaves the Upside Down this weekend, concluding it’s off-Broadway premiere this Sunday, September 5th at The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal St.). For tickets and more information, please visit www.StrangerSingsTheMusical.com.

“After going through our own version of The Upside Down, we are so proud to be bringing so much joy to the people of New York. To build this show in the way we have has been nothing short of a miracle and the response has been astounding. We can’t wait to welcome more people to our version of Hawkins for years to come!” said director Nick Flatto and writer Jonathan Hogue.

Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical, which originally played two sold-out concert runs at Feinstein’s/54 Below, is a wild and irreverent send-up of the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things” and all its campy 80’s glory.

Nick Flatto directs the production, featuring an original book and score by Jonathan Hogue. The cast features Jalen Bunch, Jason Daniel Chacon, Dean Cestari, Patrick Howard, Caroline Huerta, Katelyn Lauria, Savannah-Lee Mumford, Ariana Perlson, Garrett Poladian, Adele Simms, and Glory Yepassis-Zembrou.

In addition to Flatto and Hogue, the creative team for Stranger Sings! includes Michael Kaish (Musical Direction/Orchestrations), Ashley Marinelli (Choreography), James Ortiz (Scenic Design), Cassandra McCall Endicott (Costume Design), Jesse Scott (Lighting Design), Megan ‘Deets’ Cully (Sound Design). Casting by Krisha Bullock, CSA, Jamie Snow, CSA, Zachary Spiegel, and Brett Hahalyak of Bullock and Snow Casting.

Stranger Sings! began performances on August 5th, concluding this weekend with performances tonight (Thursday), tomorrow (Friday), and Saturday at 8pm; and Sunday at 3pm. Tickets begin at $39 and are available at www.StrangerSingsTheMusical.com. Premium tickets run at $79 and include a complimentary beer or wine and a limited-edition pin.

A limited number of $11 lottery rush tickets will be available to each performance. Participants may enter the lottery in person at The Players Theater 90 minutes prior to curtain time to enter their name for the chance to see that day’s performance. 60 minutes prior to the show names will be chosen at random. Limit one entry per person and up to two tickets per winner. Tickets are subject to availability.

The production is produced by Cue to Cue Productions, Golden Olive Productions, and Stranger Sings LLC.

Director and writer Sian Heder also received Best Director in the U.S. Dramatic Section. In “CODA,” seventeen-year-old Ruby (Emilia Jones) is the sole hearing member of a deaf family—a CODA, child of deaf adults. Her life revolves around acting as interpreter for her parents (Marlee Matlin, Troy Kotsur) and working on the family’s struggling fishing boat every day before school with her father and older brother (Daniel Durant). But when Ruby joins her high school’s choir club, she discovers a gift for singing and soon finds herself drawn to her duet partner Miles (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo). Encouraged by her enthusiastic, tough-love choirmaster (Eugenio Derbez) to apply to a prestigious music school, Ruby finds herself torn between the obligations she feels to her family and the pursuit of her own dreams.

MULTI-PLATINUM-SELLING SINGER/SONGWRITER CALUM SCOTT SHARES ASL VERSION OF “BIBLICAL”

MADE IN COLLABORATION WITH DEAF WEST THEATRE

WATCH HERE

New York, NY (August 31, 2021) — Multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter Calum Scott has created an American Sign Language (ASL) version of his recent single “Biblical,” a stunning and soulful ballad that premiered in June. Made in collaboration with the Tony Award®-winning Deaf West Theatre (David Kurs, Artistic Director), the ASL version of “Biblical” encompasses a powerfully moving video in which the U.K.-based artist and several performers interpret the track’s deeply personal storytelling. Check out “Biblical (American Sign Language Version – In Collaboration with Deaf West Theatre)” HERE.

“It is incredibly important for me to reach as many people as possible with my music so when the opportunity came about to work with the Deaf community, I was so excited to collaborate,” says Scott.  “I feel immense gratitude to know that my music continues to transcend language across the world and not only did I want to have a sign language version of the song but I also wanted learn how to sign it myself to connect directly with my fans in this often underrepresented community.”

Beautifully shot in black and white, the ASL version of “Biblical” opens on Scott spelling out the song’s title in ASL. From there, the visual focuses in on a series of actors as they each offer up an impassioned interpretation of “Biblical” and its heartfelt expression of unconditional love. As revealed by Giovanni Maucere (the video’s ASL director), each frame was meticulously crafted to enhance the song’s impact among members of the Deaf community.

"It is my honor to collaborate with Deaf West Theatre and Calum Scott,” says Maucere. “I knew that we could bring a new facet to the song by expressing the beauty and honesty of the song through ASL. Deaf people experience music in various ways, and in this video ASL is layered with camera movement and lighting in a way that we can begin to feel Calum’s story. This music video is a true expression of honest and accessible storytelling.”

Partly recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios (and accompanied by a spellbinding video), “Biblical” marks the first single from Scott’s forthcoming sophomore album. Due out later this year, the album will follow his 2018 full-length debut Only Human — a widely acclaimed release that hit No. 1 on the iTunes album chart in 21 countries across the globe, in addition to selling more than 3.6 million in adjusted album sales and amassing over 7.5 billion combined streams.

Last month, Scott appeared on “TODAY” to discuss the inspiration behind “Biblical” and deliver a soul-stirring performance of the track. Check out the clip HERE.

With the release of the ASL version of “Biblical,” Scott has moved forward with his ambition of making music that fosters a profound sense of community and connection. “Having seen how my music had reacted with people over the last three years, it gave me an opportunity to absorb what I had experienced, to mature and become an artist with a mission,” says Scott. “I want to create something for people to feel seen, heard, and represented.”

ABOUT CALUM SCOTT

With the arrival of his 2018 debut album Only Human, U.K.-based singer/songwriter Calum Scott landed at No. 1 on the iTunes album chart in over 20 countries around the world, amassing over 7.5 billion total global streams and counting. Now certified platinum or gold in 21 countries, Only Human includes his platinum-selling smash “You Are The Reason,” a track that cracked the top 25 on Spotify’s US Viral 50 and hit the top 10 on iTunes single charts in 38 countries. The album also features Scott’s stripped-back, platinum-certified cover of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own,” which earned a Brit Award nomination in the category of Best British Single. His first new music since Only Human, Scott’s new single “Biblical” marks an exciting evolution of his artistry, bringing even more raw emotion to his soulful and timeless sound. With its title referring to “a love of biblical proportions that transcends everyone and everything,” according to Scott, the piano-laced ballad is the first song released from his highly anticipated sophomore album due early 2022. Over the last few years, his songs have appeared on countless TV shows (including “American Idol,” “The Voice,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and many more), while Scott has performed on such shows as “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” “Ellen,” “Good Morning America,” “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” and “Dancing With The Stars,” among others. In addition, he’s garnered acclaim from outlets including Billboard (who hailed his “stunningly pure voice”), The Huffington Post (who stated that “Scott makes an impressive splash…compelling”), and Ones to Watch (who noted that Scott’s music “elegantly transforms pain into beauty”).

MAX BROD PRODUCTIONS
ANNOUNCES THE NEW MUSICAL COMEDY

“A TURTLE ON A FENCE POST”

THE SHOW THE (FORMERLY) MOST POWERFUL MAN
IN NEW YORK DOESN’T WANT YOU TO SEE

PREVIEWS BEGIN OCTOBER 26
OPENING NIGHT SET FOR NOVEMBER 14
AT THEATER 555

New York, NY (August 19, 2021) – Max Brod Productions (Hank Morris, Executive Producer) announced today the new musical comedy, A Turtle on a Fence Post, which will begin previews on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, ahead of an official Opening Night on Sunday, November 14. The production will be the first to open at the newly renamed Theater 555 at 555 W. 42nd Street.

“I can’t wait to share my story,” Hank Morris says. “I’ve been silent for far too long. It’s a tale of New York, about New York, and inspired by the people of New York.” The first-time playwright and his collaborators dedicate A Turtle on a Fence Post to the thousands of nursing home victims who died of Covid, the incarcerated who’ve been illegally denied parole, and the brave women who endured sexual harassment and then confronted their assailant, the most influential man in the state. Adds Morris, “These courageous women stood up to a powerful bully. I didn’t and I’m forever guilty about it. I wish I did. I wish I had their gumption, tenacity and fortitude.”

General Management is by Michael Chase Gosselin & Tim Sulka of Visceral Entertainment (Emojiland, Midnight at The Never Get). Additional information, including casting, will be announced soon.

A Turtle on a Fence Post will play a limited ten-week engagement through Sunday, January 2, 2022. Tickets will go on sale September 13th, 2021 at 12pm EST. Until then, visit www.TurtleMusical.com for more information and to sign-up for updates. All attendees will be required to show ID and proof of COVID vaccination.

Theater 555, owned by theatrical producer Eric Krebs was formerly the home of both the Signature and Pearl Theatre Companies and more recently the home of Upright Citizens Brigade. www.Theater555.com

New York, NY (August 2, 2021) – Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical returns from the Upside Down with its off-Broadway premiere beginning this Thursday, August 5th at The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal St.), ahead of an official Opening Night set for Wednesday, August 11th, with the strictly limited engagement set to run through Sunday, September 5th.

Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical, which originally played two sold-out concert runs at Feinstein’s/54 Below, is a wild and irreverent send-up of the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things” and all its campy 80’s glory.

Nick Flatto directs the production, featuring an original book and score by Jonathan Hogue. The cast features Jalen Bunch, Jason Daniel Chacon, Dean Cestari, Patrick Howard, Caroline Huerta, Katelyn Lauria, Savannah-Lee Mumford, Ariana Perlson, Garrett Poladian, Adele Simms, and Glory Yepassis-Zembrou.

In addition to Flatto and Hogue, the creative team for Stranger Sings! includes Michael Kaish (Musical Direction/Orchestrations), Ashley Marinelli (Choreography), James Ortiz (Scenic Design), Cassandra McCall Endicott (Costume Design), Jesse Scott (Lighting Design), Megan ‘Deets’ Cully (Sound Design). New York, NY
(July 29, 2021) – Announced today is the complete casting for the world premiere off-Broadway musical A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet. Starring as ‘Regina Comet’ is Bryonha Marie Parham (Prince of Broadway, “The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage!”), who will be joined by A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet creators Alex Wyse (“Indoor Boys”, Spring Awakening) and Ben Fankhauser (Newsies, Beautiful) to complete the cast.

Featuring book, music, and lyrics by Alex Wyse and Ben Fankhauser, with direction by Marshall Pailet (Baghdaddy, Triassic Parq) and choreography by Drama Desk Award winner Stephanie Klemons (Hamilton, In The Heights), A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet begins previews on Friday, September 17th, at the DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th Street), with an opening night set for Monday, September 27th. The strictly limited engagement is set to run through Sunday, November 14th, 2021.

The creative team for A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet also includes Lucille Lortel Award nominee Wilson Chin (Scenic Design), Antonyo Award winner Sarita Fellows (Costume Design), Aja M. Jackson (Lighting Design), Twi McCallum (Sound Design), and Alex Goldie Golden (Music Director).

A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet is produced by Cody Lassen, joined by Kate Cannova, Sue Gilad & Larry Rogowsky, Chaz Naor, Samantha Squeri, David Lipowicz, Brad Blume, Jo-Ann Dean, Jamie deRoy/Luigi Caiola, Wayne Hampton Holland, III, Jamie Joeyen-Waldorf, Robert Laurita, Benny Lumpkins Jr., and Raindrop Valley.

Tickets, starting at $55, are now available and can be purchased by visiting www.Telecharge.com or by calling 800-447-7400.
